Lawyers to receive 7.5 euros to resolve pending immigration cases

Remotely, these professionals intend to instruct processes for granting residence permits or renewing residence permits for migrants.

In response to the Government's appeal, hundreds of lawyers and solicitors have already signed up to help resolve the 400,000 pending immigration cases.

They will earn seven and a half euros per case, but the president of the bar association says that the important thing is not the money.

Applications for lawyers and solicitors who wish to provide services to the State in the investigation of pending immigrant cases are open until the end of the month.

The agreement was established between the Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum and the Bar Associations and Solicitors.

In two days, more than 800 lawyers, trainee lawyers and solicitors registered for the competition.

Remotely, these professionals intend to instruct processes for granting residence permits or renewing residence permits for migrants.

These cases are still pending and affect 400,000 immigrants in Portugal. The president regrets the delay in the procedure.

Payment is set at a monthly rate ranging from 150 to 1,500 euros for 20 to 200 cases. All things considered, seven and a half euros for each case.
