Requests for Portuguese nationality now have the help of an Artificial Intelligence tool that allows the service to be done online, through automatic validation of the authenticity of the documents . In the first phase of the project, the online order will have to be made by representatives.
The documentation is now validated by Artificial Intelligence tools, eliminating the need for manual verification of documents by the Institute of Registries and Notaries (IRN). Since this is one of the most sought after services at the IRN, this new tool will reduce ordering time and avoid trips to the counter.
This authenticity validator is part of a set of measures of the first Govtech strategy to support the area of Justice. The objectives are the innovation and digital transformation of this sector, to make services more agile and efficient.
This strategy has a support of 26 million euros from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and integrates several Justice technology-based projects.
